Teav is an Indigenous woman from the Punong group in Cambodia’s Mondulkiri Province. She is a second year student studying of history at Royal University of Phnom Penh and represents inter-ethnic youth in Cambodia at WPM in the “Our Turn” initiative in her capacity as a member of the Network of Interethnic Peace Ambassadors (NIPA). Teav used to be shy and did not always have the courage to speak out. She always suffered from hearing the words “as the only daughter, she should not go far from home to pursue higher education.” However, she has overcome these challenges and works on learning more about communities outside her own.
