Sok Leang

Mr. Sok Leang is an advisor to Club of Cambodian Journalists (CCJ) on program/project development, organizational development, fundraising and capacity building; and advising a project to coordinate Ministry of Information and Ministry of Women’s Affairs to create a Joint Prakas on Media Code of Ethics for Reporting on Violence Against Women. And he is also currently a senior advisor to Housing Rights Task Force (HRTF) in charge of Human Rights and Organizational Capacity Development. Leang voluntarily coordinates to create a Gender Learning Group.

He is currently a Steering Committee member of Gender and Development Network (GADNet) with a mission to promote gender equality in Cambodia. He has more than ten-year experiences in teaching and training at universities, private schools, companies; experiences in project management, research, evaluation and consultancy; experiences in working with local and international NGOs; and he is a professional translator/interpreter. At the university, he has taught Critical Thinking, Sociology, Cultural Anthropology, Ethics and Good Governance.

Mr. Leang earned his M.A Degree in Sociology-Anthropology at Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), a program in Collaboration with the University of Bologna, Italy. He received a B.Ed in English and BA in Khmer Literature from RUPP. He also received professional trainings courses on International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law and Transitional Justice. Mr. Leang has travelled to all the provinces in Cambodia during his work with NGOs and his consultancy work and he has travelled to all 10 countries in ASEAN.
