Mr. Rattanak Ly earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the Royal University of
Phnom Penh and two Master’s Degrees, one in Applied Conflict Transformation Studies, a
part-time master program run by Center for Peace and Conflict Studies under cooperation
with Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (PUC), and the other in Peace and Conflict
Studies at the University of Queensland, Australia. During his study in Australia, Rattanak
was elected twice as the President of Cambodian Students Association in Queensland, an
organization aiming at promoting Cambodian student networks, sharing Cambodian Culture
and exchanging cultures with other nationalities, and sharing knowledge. Apart from his
academic background, Rattanak has professional experience (as a peace practitioner) in
the field of peacebuilding and conflict transformation for almost 7 years. During his
professional experience, his work was mainly focusing on dealing with the past, addressing
historical and interethnic conflict, and peacebuilding in diverse societies. In addition to his
social work with NGOs, he used to be a lecturer teaching positive Psychology and
Philosophy at Univeristy of Puthisastra, and had some experience in counseling.
