Lesli Gutierrez Garduño is a peace worker and a digital storyteller. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, as well as a Master of Advanced Studies in Peace and Conflict Transformation from the University of Basel in Switzerland. Additionally, she pursued a Master of Arts in Peace and Conflict Transformation at the University of Innsbruck in Austria, where she is currently writing her thesis on the power of animation as a communication tool for peacebuilding projects. Lesli has gained practical experience working in various areas, including migration, youth initiatives, women’s rights, refugees, and child protection, in Latin America, Switzerland, India, and Cambodia. Her work has primarily focused on peace-building and human rights, with a particular emphasis on marginalized groups. She has also collaborated with the Swiss non-governmental organization, terre des hommes schweiz, as a consultant to emphasize the importance of animated videos as a tool for communicating personal transformation, as a key factor for promoting successful social projects. Through these animated stories, she hopes to raise awareness about the impact of peacebuilding in creating social change. Lesli has worked with WPM over the years, producing two animated videos that tell the stories of our projects and participants from marginalized communities. Her work brings important research findings and community practices to life in creative ways to better communicate to our audiences far and wide.
