KATE SEEWALD

Kate is a women’s rights professional who has spent her career working to strengthen the skills of women to campaign, mobilise and organise effectively and confidently on the issues that affect them.

Kate has been based in Cambodia for the past three years working on a variety of campaigns, including ActionAid Cambodia’s Safe Cities for Women campaign to end sexual violence in cities. She recently co-founded Klahaan, a small feminist research and campaigning organisation. She has previously worked with Oxfam Australia, ActionAid International in London and the UNRWA in Palestine.

Kate holds a degree in International Relations, a Master of Human Rights, a Graduate Law Diploma and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney. Her doctoral thesis focuses on feminist activism in Southeast Asia.
