KARAN SIMBULAN

Karen is the Rakhine Programme Director of RAFT Myanmar, an organization that provides technical support to donors, national and international humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding agencies on how to mainstream conflict sensitivity when designing and implementing interventions. She specialises in context and conflict research and analysis, and designing accompaniment programs to strengthen the ability of various stakeholders to apply the Do No Harm framework to Myanmar, specifically the Rakhine context. Karen is a licensed lawyer in the Philippines and has more than 14 years of experience conducting research and advocacy in the fields of civil and political law, human rights and conflict transformation. At WPM, she has co-authored and edited numerous publications and supports staff on issues of conflict sensitivity, human rights, and peacebuilding.
