Chompey is a Jarai Indigenous woman from Rattanakiri Province in Cambodia. She is the Vice President of the Cambodia Indigenous Women Association (CIWA) and leads work at WPM working with local Indigenous women to ensure their voices are heard by partners and the general public on their issues, challenges, and very particular needs. Chompey is strong advocate for strengthening the capacity of Indigenous women and pushing policy development for Indigenous inclusion. She believes strongly in “nothing about us without us” and ensures that her own personal identity as an Indigenous woman is integrated in all her work contributing to important narratives around intersectionality and multiple marginalisation that young Indigenous women face in mainstream society.
